ANNOUNCEMENT AND INVITATION
PSAI is now accepting paper abstracts for the Annual Conference
The Philippine Statistical Association, Inc. (PSAI) is pleased to announce the holding of the 2016 PSAI Annual Conference on the Role of Statistics in Monitoring Progress on Social Protection to be held on 31 August - 2 September 2016 in Naga City.
The PSAI is now accepting contributed papers for oral presentation in the Conference. The forum will highlight sharing of experiences in the production and analysis of statistics in monitoring progress of Social Protection in the country. Research papers for presentation shall focus on the applications of statistical methodology and innovative approaches in the production and analysis of data that would enable informed decisions on the Social Protection. Discussions may include but not be limited quality of life, labor protection, vulnerable groups, risk management, poverty, disaster preparedness, financial inclusivity, energy, and other relevant topics.
Deadline of submission of abstracts is on 30 June 2016
Paper authors interested to present scientific papers in line with the Conference’ theme are invited to submit the accomplished form together with the abstract to:

Participating papers with multiple authors must clearly indicate the author with whom the organizers should exchange correspondence. The abstract should contain 200 to 300 words, English in MS Word Times New Roman 12 format, typed double-space on A4 paper size with 1 inch margins on all sides.
The Scientific Program Committee, in consultation with the PSAI Executive Committee, will screen applications for paper presentation based on the submitted abstracts. Abstracts will be evaluated and authors of the accepted papers for presentation shall be informed by 15 July 2016. Authors of selected papers for presentation shall submit the full paper by email not later than 31 July 2016. Final manuscripts must not exceed 5,000 words, English, single space in A4-sized pages using 12-point Times New Roman font in MS-Word format. Additional instructions will be given to the authors of selected papers. The final manuscripts must be submitted to the Chair of the Scientific Program Committee and the PSAI Secretariat.
All papers accepted and received by the Committee and the Secretariat on or before 15 August 2016 will be included in the PSAI Annual Conference 2016 e-compilation of papers.
As noted in Bulletin No. 1, event highlights a Short Training-Appreciation on Communicating Statistics through Information Graphics and a parallel training on Statistical Methods for Project Monitoring And Evaluation on 31 August 2016. Thus, the registration fee for the three-day event is four thousand and four hundred pesos (Php4,400.00). This will cover meals, (snacks and lunch), conference kit and other materials. Training participants are enjoined to bring own laptop. A discounted rate of four thousand Pesos (Php4,000.00) will be given to PSAI individual members, employees of PSAI Institutional members, students and early-bird registrants who register not later than 30 June 2016. For papers with multiple authors, only one shall be exempted from payment of registration fee.

Deadline for submission of full papers and accomplished form is on 15 July 2016. Final manuscripts must also not exceed 5,000 words, English, single space in A4-sized pages using 11-point Arial font in MS-Word format. Authors of winning papers for presentation shall be notified not later than 31 July 2016. Cash prizes awaits best papers. Presenter of winning papers will be given travel allowance and hotel accommodation to attend the conference and present the paper.
List of accepted papers, registration form, vicinity map of Naga City, transport advisories, list of hotels, tourist destinations and tourism services providers that may be considered by the participants are included in Bulletin No. 3.
