The Philippine Statistical Association, Inc. (PSAI) is a non-stock, non-profit professional association of practitioners in the discipline made up of individuals and institutions from the government, the academe, and the private sector, and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on September 24, 1952.
Since its inception, the PSAI has remained as the only scientific society committed to foster statistics, notably, in the efforts to enhance its contribution to human welfare. The nation is at the crossroads as we prepare to transition into a new leadership. It is for this reason that we recognize the need to put premium on our ability to analyze the issues at hand and to make decisions based on facts that can stand up to scrutiny. This is crucial to our understanding of where we want to be and to help us appreciate the circumstances and situations that could bring about the changes we desire.
To help our partners in the media to imbibe the practice of checking the authenticity of facts, the PSAI is pleased to announce the ½ day Seminar on Fact Checking which will be held at the University of the Philippines, School of Statistics (UPSS), Diliman, Quezon City on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. The Resource Speaker for the Seminar is Prof. Clarissa David of the UP College of Mass Communication. This will be at no cost on the part of the participants and will be on a first-come first-served basis. You may confirm your participation through the PSAI Secretariat, c/o Stephanie Rae C. Andres or Reynaldo B. Belluga, Jr. at telephone nos. 920-6513, and 456-1928, or through email@example.com. We will be happy to hear from you.
