The 14th National Convention on Statistics (NCS) on 01-03 October 2019 spearheaded by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) will spearhead the conduct of the 14th National Convention on Statistics (NCS) which will coincide with the celebration of the 30th National Statistics Month (NSM). The NSM is an annual celebration of the Philippine Statistical System (PSS) in accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 647, s. 1990, “Declaring the Month of October of Every Year as the National Statistics Month.â€
The NCS is a triennial activity of the PSS which aims to: (1) provide a forum for exchanging ideas and experiences in the field of statistics and for discussing recent statistical development and prevailing issues and problems of the PSS; and (2) elicit the cooperation and support of statisticians and professionals in related fields from the government, academe, and private sector towards a more responsive statistical system.
Through the years, the NSM and NCS have continuously succeeded in promoting, enhancing and instilling awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society. The joint opening ceremony will be held on 01 October 2019. This year’s simultaneous celebration will carry the theme, “Data Innovation: Key to a Better Nation,†highlighting the role of data innovation in providing quality statistics that will measure the nation’s progress in achieving national development goals.
It is with pleasure, that the PSA invites the Philippine Statistical Association, Inc. to the 14th NCS which will be held on 01 to 03 October 2019 at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, Ortigas Avenue corner Asian Development Bank Avenue, Quezon City. Your participation will greatly contribute in the appreciation of statistics as an aid for business research and analysis, and indispensable tool for government policy- and decision-making.
The Convention features plenary sessions, invited/contributed paper sessions, poster sessions, panel discussions, statistics trainings/seminars, and the Statistical Information Management Exhibit (SIMEx). The event is participated by statisticians, statistical practitioners, academicians, researchers, students, development partners and media.
