PSSC-PSAI Forum on Statistics and the Social Sciences: Responding to Social Issues

The Philippine Social Science Council (PSSC) and the Philippine Statistical Association Inc. (PSAI) are pleased to invite everyone to attend the forum on, “Statistics and the Social Sciences: Responding to Social Issues” on 29 July 2019, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the PSSCenter Auditorium, Commonwealth Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City.

Dr. Lisa Grace S. Bersales, a professor at the UP School of Statistics and the first National Statistician and Civil Registrar General of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) will be the Resource Speaker. She is also the President of Philippine Statistical Association, Inc.

The main objectives of the forum are the following:

  1. To increase awareness of the official statistics generated by the Philippine Statistics Authority;
  2. To advocate for the use of these statistics in the visioning, program planning, research, and training projects of the various social science disciplines, and
  3. To develop partnership between the official statistical community and the social sciences community and persuade social scientists to respond to and contribute to the attainment of the Philippine aspirations as articulated in the Philippine Statistical Development Program (PSDP) 2017-2023.
